West campus well-represented among 2019 ACC-RAC platform, poster presenters

More than two-dozen students, faculty, alumni and administrators from the Palmer College of Chiropractic West campus in San Jose, Calif., participated in the Association of Chiropractic Colleges’ 26th Educational Conference and Research Agenda Conference (ACC-RAC), held March 14-16 at the Marriott Waterfront Hotel in Baltimore, Md.

Palmer West-associated ACC-RAC 2019 presenters/participants included (from left): Greg Snow, D.C., dean of academic affairs (West ’90); Kily Tracy, D.C. faculty clinician (West ’93); Felisha Truong, West student; Vivian Ly, D.C. (West ’18); Bill Meeker, D.C. , president (West ’82); and Jonathan Slater, D.C., faculty clinician (West ’97).

“From our first chapter to the current, Palmer West students, faculty and alumni have demonstrated a desire and commitment to advance the profession through formal research and other scholarly efforts,” said Bill Meeker, D.C., M.P.H., F.P.A.C. (West ’82), who served as Palmer College vice president for research for 12 years, prior to his 2007 appointment as president of Palmer West.

“The strong Palmer West presence at the recent ACC-RAC continues that tradition – and as an alumnus and campus-president, that fills me with great pride.”

Participating as an ACC-RAC platform-speaker and poster-presenter for the second year in a row was an equally prideful experience for West student Felisha Truong.

“Presenting at ACC-RAC the past two years ranks among the best and proudest moments of my time at Palmer West,” said Truong, an 11th Quarter intern who has served two terms as an executive officer of the Associated Student Government (ASG) while concurrently serving as president of the Research Club.

West student Felisha Truong (left) with West alumna Keira Fika, D.C. (West ’18), featured poster-presenters at ACC-RAC ’19. Truong also was a platform-speaker for the second year in a row.

“I am so grateful to experience the Conference again this year with such brilliant people from Palmer West, including current faculty as well as alumni. I want to thank Dr. (Robert) Cooperstein (Palmer West coordinator of technique and research) for providing me with such amazing opportunities to get involved with chiropractic-research projects as a student. It’s been a great time – and, like other Palmer West alumni, I hope I can continue pursuing/doing research when I graduate.”
