Davenport campus welcomes 104 graduates Oct. 20

Palmer’s Davenport campus held commencement ceremonies on Friday, Oct. 20, in Vickie Anne Palmer Hall. The commencement speaker was Michelle (Barber) Drover, M.S.W., D.C., associate dean for Life Sciences and Foundations on the Davenport campus.

“Look at how you’ve grown together as a group,” Dr. Drover told the graduates. “I encourage you to continue to surround yourselves with people who will support you in achieving your dreams.”

Ninety-nine students received Doctor of Chiropractic degrees during commencement, two were awarded Associate of Applied Science in Chiropractic Technology degrees, and three were awarded Master of Science in Clinical Research degrees. Co-valedictorians were Giana Backes, Hurley, Wis., and Shayne Samoil, Sherwood Park, Alberta, Canada. Co-salutatorians were Shelby Crone, Morocco, Ind., and Rebecca Warnecke, Lake Geneva, Wis. The Clinical Excellence Award winner was Tiffany Thorne, Wallback, W.V. The recipient of the Virgil V. Strang Philosophy Award was Jordan Kurbs, Lockport, N.Y.
