Palmer’s Davenport Campus graduates Class 142
Commencement ceremonies on June 13 at Palmer College of Chiropractic’s Davenport campus marked the graduation of 84 students, including 73 Doctor of Chiropractic degree recipients, four Associate of Science in Chiropractic Technologies degree recipients, and 30 Bachelor of Science degrees awarded, with 23 of those Bachelor of Science degree recipients also earning the Doctor of Chiropractic degree.
Graduates were from 16 U.S. states plus Canada, Puerto Rico, Saudi Arabia, South Korea and the United Kingdom. The commencement speaker was Palmer’s Executive Director for Alumni Mickey Burt, D.C., a 1973 Palmer graduate practicing in Walcott, Iowa. The honors convocation speaker was Palmer College of Chiropractic Senior Director of Library Services Chabha Hocine Tepe, M.L.I.S, M.A.
The Valedictorian was: Leah Hetebreug, West Bend, Wis. The salutatorian was Andrew Ascherl, Sheldon, Iowa. Sean Walker, Strum, Wis., received the Virgil V. Strang Philosophy Award, and Brandon Blank, Missoula, Mont., won the Clinical Excellence Award.
“It’s apparent to me the importance Palmer has within the chiropractic community,” Dr. Burt told the graduates. “Thank you for becoming a chiropractor, from one chiropractor to another.”
