New Enrollment vice chancellor and Admissions reps
Vice Chancellor for Enrollment
Thomas (Tom) Stempek, M.A., has been named vice chancellor for enrollment. He joined Palmer College in March and is responsible for all enrollment and admissions functions for the College. His office is located in the Admissions Department building on the Davenport, Iowa, Campus.
Mr. Stempek comes to Palmer from Brown Mackie College, South Bend and Merrillville, Ind., where he served as senior director of admissions and marketing, and assistant campus director. He managed a staff of 26 associate directors of admissions, four directors of admissions and eight additional support staff at Brown Mackie College locations in South Bend and Merrillville, Ind. Prior to that he was national director of enrollment operations for the University of Phoenix in Phoenix, Ariz.
He earned an M.A. in organizational management in 2005, and a B.S. in business management in 2001, both from the University of Phoenix. Mr. Stempek honorably served for 20 years in the U.S. Navy, retiring in 1995. From 1983 to 1995, he served with the Navy Recruiting Command, receiving a congressional appointment to the Career Recruiting Force for outstanding leadership and management as well as five Navy Commendation Medals and three Navy Achievement Medals for recruiting excellence. He also received 39 consecutive quarterly “Gold Wreath” awards for outstanding recruiting performance, and was named the national Sailor of the Year in 1986.
“I look forward to Tom leading the effort of our full Palmer community to attract the most talented students to Palmer College,” said Palmer Chancellor Dennis Marchiori, D.C., Ph.D.
Two new Admissions representatives have also joined the team and are located on Palmer’s Davenport Campus.
Stephanie Eads is from Clinton, Iowa, and received her education at Cardinal Stritch University in Milwaukee, Wisc. where she received her degree in Communications and English. She has been working in higher education since 2007. Said Ms. Eads, “I truly love helping students reach their goals of walking across that stage and becoming the professional that they’ve always wanted to be!”
Paula Rummels comes from Rock Island, Ill. With an Associate of Art Degree from Black Hawk College, Bachelor of Science from Southern Illinois University – Carbondale and Master of Science in Integrated Marketing Communications from Roosevelt University in Chicago, Ill., Paula comes to Palmer with over five years of experience in higher education recruitment. Said Ms. Rummels, “It is a joy to meet, guide and assist students with their educational goals and to see them graduate, be successful and fulfilled in their career is even a greater joy.”
