It’s National Library Week!

(written Tuesday) It’s Tuesday! Which is suppose to mean that it’s Spine and Go Seek Tuesday, but I left the apartment in a hurry today and completely forgot it was Tuesday … thus forgetting the squishy spine to hide!

Once I got to school and realized I had forgotten it, I was completely bummed. It’s National Library Week, though, so the Library has a lot of things going on. (Check out their Facebook page for details.) So hopefully people were too distracted by that to miss our squishy spine scavenger hunt.

Next Tuesday we will be back at it again! It will give me extra time to think of a good place to hide it! It was suppose to be getting nicer, so outside options were going to be available until it started to snow again yesterday. Maybe someday spring will show up here in the Midwest!

Tuesday also means Zumba day! If you haven’t come to check it out yet, I highly reccommend it. We always have so much fun!

I didn’t get a chance to check out the Libraries activities yet this week, but I think they are doing various trivia (prizes for just participating! so head over that way), I believe there is a drawing for a bigger prize for those that submit the right anwers to their trivia questions, and one day I read they’re looking for students to take selfies with their favorite resource tool. I study down in the second floor Library sometimes, and they have really cool cherry blossom decorations made out of book pages all over the library it looks great. They also have pictures with a little information about all Library staff on the front window, so head down there and check that out and thank those wonderful ladies for all they do for us!

Feeling a bit lazy but ready to study

Spine ... with cheesecake

Spine … with cheesecake

The second Spine and Go Seek was a success! I had it with me at the Sigma Phi Chi bake sale next to the cheesecake I made last night. The girl that found it just picked it up becasue she thought it was cute, read the sign and was really confused as to what to do next, so it took some prompting for me to get her to take it down to the Marketing Department. She was pretty excited and loved her goody bag.

It’s Zumba night, but I’m having a lazy day and I think I will skip. The girl that teaches Zumba is starting to do a step aerobics class on Thursdays, so I think I will start going to that.

Next week is starting to get busy. I think we have about 6 exams next week. This week will be a lot of preparing for next week.

Let the studying begin!

Spine and Go Seek winners … and more zumba

The winners of the first bout of #SpineAndGoSeek!

The winners of the first bout of #SpineAndGoSeek!

Today we had our try-out round of Spine and Go Seek and despite some minor hiccups we got everything in place. After only a few hours, our squishy spine was found and returned to the Marketing Department! From what I am told, it was three second trimester students who found our spine, and I hear they were quite excited.

Unfortunately, we had the wrong clue posted* so they ran around campus not sure where to go until they were given a hint. Then they had no problem finding our hiding spot. Everyone seemed real pleased with this game, and I’m excited to find a new place to hide the spine for next tuesday! If you’re not on board with the spine and go seek game you really should be. This is the picture of our first winners–they looked so excited! Although I went easy on you guys this week, maybe next week I’ll put it somewhere a little more discreet.

National Boards are coming up this weekend. The bad news is Boards are this weekend. The good news is I don’t have to take them this time so I get a long weekend to catch up on school work and start studying. I will also be catching up on some TV shows and seeing a movie or two.

We had Zumba again in the gym and had a really great turn out. I bet there were 20 people or more there. Enough to where we were running low on room. Hopefully more people will show up so we can have another class during the week. We had a really good time, and I’m sure I’ll be sore tomorrow! As I have mentioned before about not being able to do a push up, I’m also not very good at doing planks. After a while, my arms just couldn’t handle anymore, and I fell onto my stomach. Can’t say I didn’t try, though! Hopefully by the end of the trimester I can do the whole workout without needing a nap afterwords!

What’s Spine and Go Seek? Find out Tuesday!

Look for one of these around the Davenport Campus on Tuesdays!

Look for one of these around the Davenport Campus on Tuesdays!

There are going to be a lot of new cool things coming your way, guys, real soon! We came up with a lot of really good, fun ideas that we want to put into play real soon. My favorite though is one inspired from a friend that took our original idea and made it awesome!

We are going to start a “spine and go seek” Tuesday (#SpineAndGoSeek). On Tuesdays during the  9:20 a.m. hour, I am going to strategically hide a squishy vertebra (like a stress ball, but a Palmer vertebra!) somewhere on campus and take a picture of it. The photo will then be uploaded online to Facebook and other various social media sites. Then you guys have the chance to find it! Take your picture with it where you find it, then go to the Marketing & Communication Department (first floor of the Administration Building–off Friendship Court) and receive a prize!

I think it’s going to be really fun. I’m kinda sad I’m the one hiding them because I’d like to play! That’s one of the many great ideas we came up with. You guys will probably end up seeing and hearing from me a lot more in the months to come!

As for the remainder of the week, Board Game Club is tomorrow night! My cousin and her boyfriend are visiting, so I’m making them come with me. I know everyone will have a good time. Tomorrow, I’m going to check out the Animal Chiropractic Club! I will let you know how awesome that is!
