Sigma Phi Chi

For our last blog of Women’s History Month we’re featuring Sigma Phi Chi!

This chiropractic sorority is the oldest women’s chiropractic organization in the world and is dedicated to empowering women in chiropractic.

It was founded at the Palmer School of Chiropractic by Mabel H. Palmer and was incorporated May 19, 1914.

There used to be more chapters of the organization at other chiropractic colleges, but the Alpha Grand chapter at Palmer College is the only currently active chapter.

The sorority published monthly updates in The Chiropractor for many years which you can read in our digital collections.

The Alpha Grand Chapter at Palmer College is still very active in the chiropractic community, carrying on Mabel Palmer’s legacy by hosting philosophy events and continuing to inspire and support women in chiropractic.
