Happy Founder’s Day!
Founder’s Day is a celebration at Palmer College of Chiropractic honoring D.D. Palmer, the founder of Chiropractic, and of the first adjustment he made in 1895. Despite some uncertainty regarding the date of the first adjustment, we celebrate it on September 18 each year; click here to read more about Founder’s Day.
This year marks 124 years since the first adjustment!
D.D. published the testimonial of the first chiropractic patient, Harvey Lillard, in his journal, The Chiropractic.
We do not have a picture of the first adjustment, but here is D.D. Palmer adjusting Dr. Shegetaro Morikubo, a 1906 graduate of the Palmer School of Chiropractic.
We have several of D.D. Palmer’s publications available in our digital collections, so check those out to learn more about the Founder of chiropractic!
