Happy New Year! This time of year it’s really common to reflect on the previous year and celebrate the goals you’ve achieved, but it’s even more exciting to make new goals! Here are some of the goals the archives are going to be working on, so stay tuned!
- We’re definitely still going to put a lot of emphasis on our Digital Collection and growing that even more than we did last year. We would love to get every Green Book uploaded by the end of the year!!
- Speaking of the Green Books, perhaps you’ve noticed the random green wall that appeared on the 3rd floor library on the Davenport campus over this winter break. That is the location of the upcoming Green Book Corner! A totally vintage-vibed space that will be dedicated to all things Green Book! We cannot wait to finish that project and share it with everyone!
- Something else we would like to get up online is our yearbook collection. We’ve got a few online now, but it would be really nice if
we had the whole set available online for our researchers who come from all over the world. You can read about the ones we have online and find the links in this blog post.
- One other thing we would like to work on is getting more content and more followers on our social media accounts! We have a few regular weekly posts, but we would definitely like to kick it up a notch and try reaching a wider audience and get more students attention with the awesome things we have going on in the library!
We would love to hear from you! What are some of your goals for the year? As always, please let us know if you would like to see something besides what we’re already working on digitized. We make student/researcher requests a priority if possible! You can let us know by commenting on any of our social media outlets or an email works just as well!
We hope you all have an excellent 2017!!!
